Dallas attorney Robert Tobey has been elected chairman of the Dallas Bar Association board of directors for 2016.
Tobey, a founding shareholder in the business litigation and appellate law firm of Johnston Tobey Baruch, was first elected to the DBA Board in 2012. He has chaired the Dallas Bar Association Judiciary, CLE, Transition to Law Practice and Bench Bar Committees, and the Trial Skills, Tort and Insurance Practice and Business Litigation Sections. He is a past co-chair of the Campaign for Equal Access to Justice.
Tobey serves on the DBA Community Service Fund Board and is a Sustaining Life Fellow of the Texas Bar and Dallas Bar Foundations.
A 1980 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, Tobey began his undergraduate work at Southern Methodist University and earned a bachelor of science in economics degree at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Robert Tobey is Board Certified in Consumer and Commercial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
